Recruiting Territories: Connecticut, Rochester, N.Y., St. Lawrence County - Section X
Austin Coleman M'21 returned to the St. Lawrence University football staff as the Offensive Coordinator in June of 2022.
Following his stint as a graduate assistant offensive line coach for the Scarlet and Brown from 2018-2020, Coleman has been serving as a history teacher and the head coach at Massena Central School since March of 2020. During his time at Massena, the Red Raiders went 5-4 in 2021 and were named Section X Class B Champions. He made all game management decisions, organized and create an offensive playbook, planned all aspects of practice and game day operations, fundraised for the program and created off season workout programs.
As a former member of the Saints' staff, Coleman handled all responsibilities of coaching the team's offensive line and helped design and installed all facets of the team's new record-setting offense alongside head coach Dan Puckhaber and other team staff – including philosophy, operation, formations, schemes, and terminology. He also recruited in New York's sections four, five, and six along with the whole state of Vermont.
In 2018, he coached a young group of offensive linemen who gave Saints' quarterbacks Tyler Grochot and Aaron Ruthman time to break 12 program record, including records for pass attempts, completions and yards in a game and for the season.
A captain and three-year All-Empire Eight offensive lineman at St. John Fisher, Coleman was a First-Team selection in his final season in 2016. St. John Fisher was 24-9 in his three years as a starter, and the team averaged 4.3 yards per carry with 161.5 rushing yards per game during that span. The Cardinals played in the ECAC Championship bowl game in each of those three seasons, defeating Western Connecticut State in 2014 to win the ECAC title.
