Prior to St. Lawrence

Guinnip played football and was a member of the track and field team at Thomas A. Edison. He was a football team captain, an Ernie Davis award finalist, Ernie Davis All-Star, a First-Team All-State, Second-Team All-Region, First-Tea, All-Southern Tier, All-Southern Tier Top-12, and All-Southern Tier Lineman of the Year. He was also a state qualifier in track, earned high honors, was a Spartan Scholar Club Community Foundation Scholarship Recipient and Dean’s Incentive Recipient.
