Prior to St. Lawrence

Twombly was a three-sport athlete in football, basketball, and lacrosse at Manchester Essex Regional High School. Twombly captained his football and basketball teams and was named All-League for both football and basketball. He was also named Gloucester Times Male Athlete of the Year and was named to the honor roll, high honor roll, and received the junior scholar award and senior scholar award.
