From his time as a collegiate soccer player and volunteer soccer coach at St. Lawrence, Eric Shinnick brings experience in a competitive team environment based largely in traditional sport. He started his gaming career in FPS titles such as Counter Strike, TFC, and Half Life as a kid and began branching out into any competitive title that merged his love of traditional sport with the competition provided by games such as FIFA, NBA 2K, and Madden NFL Football.
Fascinated by the in-game applications of principals such as tradeoffs, decision-making under pressure, and allocation of constrained resources, Eric picked up League of Legends as a hobby after college. Combining experiences from traditional sport, a professional background in quantitative analysis and decision making, and competition in esports, Eric is excited at the opportunity to mentor and create a space on campus for non-traditional athletes to express their competitive nature at highest levels of collegiate play.
