2014: A first team All-Liberty League selection for the Saints, Riley led the pitching staff with a 2.21 ERA and held opponents to a .180 batting average. He was 5-3 through eight starts with six complete games and led the Saints with 50 strikeouts in 53.0 innings pitched.

2013: A first-team All Liberty League pitcher as a junior, Joe went 7-2 in 10 appearances  and had a 1.92 ERA. He had 43 strikeouts in 65.2 innings and opponents hit .238 when he was on the mound.

2012: Joe went 5-3 in 11 appearnces for the Saints and was one of the innings leaders with 62. He struck out a team-leading 45 and walked 33, compiling a 3.92 ERA.

2011: Joe made two starts among seven appearances and was 0-1 with a 10.06 ERA in 17 innings. He walked eight and struck out 11.

At Liverpool: Joe played baseball and golf and was captain of both the baseball and golf teams as a senior.
