Ellie Jones

Jones joined the St. Lawrence University women's rowing staff as a graduate assistant coach in August 2019.

Jones returned to her alma mater after having spent two years as both an interim head coach and assistant men's rowing coach at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. While with the Diplomats she oversaw the men's and women's rowing teams, recruited student-athletes, created training and practice plans and managed the program budgets.

"Ellie continues a tradition of former Saints rowers who have returned to St. Lawrence as assistant coaches," Director of Rowing and women's rowing head coach Nick Hughes said. "It's a testament to their passion for the University and their commitment to our rowing program. Not only was Ellie an accomplished rower, but, this time around, Ellie brings a wealth of coaching experience. She's a great addition to our staff.

Prior to her time at Franklin and Marshall, Jones was an administrator, dorm parent and assistant crew coach at Westover School in Middlebury Connecticut where she assisted the athletic director in the development of the rowing program and ran practices for both novice and varsity.

Jones as a four-year member of the Saints' women's rowing team and also served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). She graduated in May 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in geology with a minor in Canadian studies.
