2017: Honorable Mention All-Liberty League at running back … led the team with 545 rushing yards on the season, an average of 88.2 yards per game in six games before suffering a season-ending injury … Named MVP of the Hoffman Cup after rushing for 177 yards in a win over Norwich on September 9 … Earned the team's Offensive Player of the Week honors twice, after a win vs. Norwich on September 9 and after the team's game vs. Buffalo State on October 14 … Started all six games that he played … Scored two touchdowns against Buffalo State.

2016: First-Team All-Liberty League ... Second-Team ECAC All-North ... Led the team with 732 rushing yards, averaging 4.5 yards per carry ... Posted his first 100-yard game for the Saints in a 38-0 win over Endicott on Sept. 17 ... Had a career-best 124 yards with two touchdowns in a 26-14 win over Union on Oct. 29 ... Also scored a rushing touchdown in the season opener, a 28-0 win over SUNY Morrisville on Sept. 2 ... Added a receiving touchdown in a 48-13 win over Rochester ... caught 20 passes for 165 yards out of the backfield.

2015: Payne earned playing time in his first season with the Saints as a running back and on special team units … He finished the season with 95 yards rushing on 33 carries and had a single-game high of 31 yards on nine carries against Hobart … He recorded four tackles on special teams play … He was part of the kickoff return unit that earned weekly team honors in week eight.

Prior to St. Lawrence
Payne played football, wrestled and competed for the track & field teams at St. Joseph’s … He played football and track & field for Worcester Academy in Massachusetts in 2014 … Named All-Monsignor Martin Conference three times at St. Joe’s and was a three-year captain … Earned All-State honors and was a three-time All-Western New York selection … In addition, he was a two-time team MVP, a defensive MVP and earned All-New England honors.
