Biography
2014-15: A first team All-Liberty League selection in both singles and doubles, Vandenbeemt posted a team-high 21 total singles victories during her senior season. In singles, the Hilton Head Island, S.C. native was 12-5 in dual matches at No. 1 and 9-2 in tournament play during the fall season. She advanced to the quarterfinals of the singles bracket at the ITA Championship and won the A flight championship at the Mary Hosking Tournament. In doubles, she and partner Morgan McNeal posted a 15-6 record, including a 5-1 mark against conference opponents and played at No. 1 all season. The duo finished as the No. 15 team in the region in the ITA’s end of the season rankings. Vandenbeemt also went 5-4 with first-year student Emily Wyman in doubles during the fall season.
2013-14: Playing as the Saints number one in singles and doubles all season long, Vandenbeemt earned All-Conference honors for the third consecutive year. A first team selection in singles, she finished with a 10-9 record and was 2-2 in conference matches. She and partner Morgan McNeal were unanimous first team selections for All-League doubles as the duo posted a 15-2 record and finished the season on an 11-match win streak.
2012-13: Vandenbeemt had another successful season with the Saints as she was named All-Conference for the second consecutive year. She posted an overall record of 14-10 at singles and was 9-7 in the top spot. She and teammate Shannon Murphy earned honorable mention in doubles as they finished 9-6 in the top two spots. The Hilton Head Island, SC native earned All-Academic honors and is majoring in pre-med and biology.
2011-12: Vandenbeemt made an impressive debut with the Saints, earning Liberty League All-Conference honors in her rookie season. The Hilton Head Island, SC native was a second singles finalist and teamed up with Hillary Drewry to earn the NYS Championship crown at No. 1 doubles in the fall. She was named the conference Rookie of the Week three times during the season and earned Liberty League All-Conference honors in singles and doubles.
At Heritage Academy: Elkie was a member of the tennis team and also received two years of tennis academy training in Hilton Head. A member of the National Honor Society, the Hilton Head Island, SC native was also an honor roll student.
