The St. Lawrence men's cross country team turned in a strong performance Saturday morning, finishing sixth out of 15 teams at the RPI Fairgrounds Showdown.

"We took a big step forward today in our season progression," said Saints head coach John Newman. "We raced some very high quality competition and gained some valuable experience on a new course."

Nico Conathan-Leach led the Saints, finishing 44th in a personal-best 25:21.2.

Cyrus Goetze was next across for St. Lawrence, placing 61st in a personal-best 25:44.4.

Eliot O'Mahoney rounded out the Saints' top three, finishing 67th with a time of 25:57.0, also a personal-best mark.

Luke Pelton crossed in a personal-best 26:02.3, Pierce McCormack followed in a personal-best 26:13.4, and Galen Halasz also made the St. Lawrence top seven, finishing in 26:39.9. Oren Winters also registered a PR mark, crossing the line in 26:54.6, giving St. Lawrence six runners with PRs on the day in a crowded 15-team field.
