Men's Soccer Defensive Performer of the Week:Â Zach Amato
Amato was strong once again in the woodwork for the Saints, going 135 minutes of scoreless soccer. His week began against SUNY Canton, where he played for the first 45 minutes and stopped the only shot he faced. On the weekend against SUNY Oneonta, he faced 11 shots, made six saves, and earned his third clean sheet of the season.Â
Women's Soccer Offensive Performer of the Week: Barrett Freeman
Freeman was great for the Scarlet and Brown this past week, helping the team to a win and a draw. The senior striker began her week against SUNY Potsdam, where she had a goal and an assist in the win. Then on the weekend, Freeman scored St. Lawrence's lone goal in their 1-1 tie against Plattsburgh State.Â
Women's Tennis Singles Performer of the Week: Yvette Karera
Yvette Karera was perfect on the weekend, making a run and winning the A singles draw at the Mary Hosking Invitational. The senior began her weekend by beating Grace Magna of William Smith 8-1 before downing RIT's Kai Wells 8-4. She then moved past teammate
Elisa Iuri and
Ariane Karera to take the A draw.Â
Women's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week: Yvette Karera &
Ariane Karera
After winning the A singles draw of the Mary Hosking Invitational, Yvette teamed up with her sister Ariane in the A doubles bracket. The sister tandem defeated William Smith's Katelyn Gray and Nellis Larson 8-2 before downing Union's Loden Bradstreet and Madelyn Alecia 8-1. An 8-4 semifinal win over Rochester's Lauren Kallas and Noel Allen set things up for a hard-fought 9-8 (7-4) win over Alys Pop and Ava Casell in the final to win the bracket.Â
