Baseball Rookie of the Week: Nathan Jackson
Jackson continues to be a key arm for the Saints as he made two appearances this week, helping the team to the sweep of Rochester. The newcomer pitched eight total innings this week, giving up no earned runs on seven hits, and struck out a team-high seven batters. Jackson was key in the team's extra-innings win on Sunday, pitching seven innings in relief and earning the win.Â
Women's Tennis Singles Performer of the Week: Angelica Aksdal-Jansen
Aksdal-Jansen went 2-0 in singles play this week for the Scarlet & Brown, defeating Bard's Paige Houghton 6-0, 6-2 at number one on Friday, before beating Vassar's Erin McCusker 6-3, 6-4 on Saturday.Â
Men's Lacrosse Offensive Performer of the Week: Patrick Murray
Murray led the Saints offense with six goals and two assists for eight points on the week. He scored one game winner, and added a ground ball and a caused turnover, as the Saints went 2-0 on the week with a 18-7 win over Potsdam and a 15-10 win over RPI.Â
Men's Lacrosse Defensive Performer of the Week: Heath Mann
Mann picked up his first career wins in goal for the Saints with a 2-0 sweep. He recorded 29 saves, a 8.03 goals against average, a .668 save percentage, and two ground balls for SLU, who defeated Potsdam 18-7 and RPI 15-10.Â
