Match Recap: Men's Tennis |

Men's Tennis Blanks Bard 7-0

The St. Lawrence University men's tennis team cruised to a 7-0 sweep over Bard at the Stevenson Athletic Center in Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y. on Friday afternoon.

The Saints improved to 4-7 overall and 1-2 in Liberty League play, while Bard dropped to 4-6 and 0-5 in conference.

St. Lawrence wasted no time in doubles, sweeping all three matches. Jake David and Josh David teamed up to blank Bard's Nicholas Oh and Thanasis Kostikas 6-0 at the top spot, while Bennett Stout and Charles Schepens were equally dominant at No. 2 with another 6-0 victory. Sebastian Boada and Ryan Tingley closed out the doubles sweep at No. 3, winning 6-1.

The Saints carried that energy into singles, where the David brothers again led the charge. Josh David picked up where he left off at No. 1, defeating Oh 6-0, 6-2, while Jake David won comfortably at No. 2, taking down Kostikas 6-1, 6-1. Rowan Bepler and Sonny Mo both posted 6-0, 6-0 wins at the third and sixth positions respectively.

Preston McCarthy and Will de Chabert-Ostland rounded out the sweep at 4 and 5 respectively.

The Saints aim to carry that momentum into Saturday, as they head to Vassar to take on the Brewers in their second match of the weekend.
