"That was a great team win," said head coach
Tom Ryan. "Zoe had another strong start and consistently made tough saves. Our defense made adjustments and had a particularly good second half. Our offense played unselfishly and shot the ball well in the second half. Tallis, Cate and Jess put up the numbers, but it was the team effort that set up their opportunities. Today was a meaningful step forward for our team."
Long led the Knights with three goals, while Violet Piccinini won seven draws and Katie Rajkowski picked up four ground balls and won two draws.
Zoe Froimovitz made 15 saves for the win, while Geneseo's Teagan Culhane finished with 17.
SLU outshot Geneseo 38-27, including 21-18 in shots on goal.
St. Lawrence improved to 1-1 on the season, while Geneseo fell to 0-3.
Next up, the Saints will host SUNY Potsdam in their home opener on Friday, March 6 at 4 p.m.
