Men's Squash Performer of the Week: Miguel Posada Villa
Posada Villa went 2-0 for the Saints from the number two spot to help lead the team to a pair of wins over Hobart and Bates. On Saturday, he beat Hobart's Adam Le 11-9, 7-11, 6-11, 11-5, 11-5, then on Sunday, he downed Bates' Ashton Monteiro 7-11, 11-9, 11-3, 11-6.
Women's Squash Performer of the Week: Madeleine Martin
Martin helped lead the Saints to a pair of wins, going 2-0 on the week. On Saturday, she played at two and beat Tamia Rollaing 11-5, 11-3, 11-2, then she celebrated senior day on Sunday with an 11-4, 10-12, 11-5, 11-4 win over Angelina Amastal.
Men's Squash Rookie of the Week: Emirhan Sen
Sen also went 2-0 for the Saints in his spot at number three over the weekend. On Saturday, he defeated Hobart's Javier De La Vega 11-4, 11-8, 11-6, then on Sunday he beat Oscar Hecker 9-11, 11-6, 11-3, 11-1.
Women's Squash Rookie of the Week: Eboni Atherley
Atherley played just one match over the weekend, but she made it count as she beat Tia Billimoria of Bates 11-8, 8-11, 11-8, 11-7 from the number two spot.Â
Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week: Josh David
David went 1-1 in singles play over the weekend and earned his win against Daemen's Alex Lumanog 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 from his spot at number one. He also took a doubles win against Rochester, teaming up with his brother for a 7-6 (7-2) win over Rahul Ravi and Ethan Samora at number one doubles.Â
Women's Tennis Singles Performer of the Week: Ariane Karera
Karera went 2-0 in singles play for the Saints in a 2-0 weekend. played at number on against Daemen for the Saints. Against Daemen, she occupied the number one spot and won her match 6-2, 6-3 against Marley Conover, then she took on Rochester's Sanjana Karnam on Sunday, winning 7-5, 6-1.Â
Women's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week: Angelica Aksdal-Jansen/
Molly Jespersen
The senior tandem of Aksdal-Jansen and Jespersen played just once over the weekend against Rochester's Lilly Caldwell and Katie Yang at number one and secured a 6-2 win.Â
Men's Track & Field Rookie of the Week: Landon Powers
In the high jump at the SLU Open,
Landon Powers registered a personal-best leap of 1.90 meters to take first place in the event. He also posted a PR in the hurdles, clocking an 8.83 in the 60-meter hurdles during his prelim run, and ultimately placed seventh in the final.
Women's Track & Field Rookie of the Week: Ella Baker
Baker made her mark on the sprinting record books for the third time, setting yet another program record in the 60-meter dash finals. This came with a time of 7.86, beating her previous record of 7.89 from earlier in the campaign.
Men's Lacrosse Defensive Performer of the Week: Quin Fedor
Fedor led defense with five ground balls and three caused turnovers, as the No. 13 Saints recorded a 17-9 season-opening win over Western New England on Thursday.Â
