The St. Lawrence University men's track and field team posted an impressive 2024–25 season highlighted by numerous personal bests, three team meet victories, and an individual NCAA national champion.
The Saints captured first-place finishes at the SLU Open, the St. Lawrence Invitational, and the Saints Holiday Relays, with standout performances across events throughout the year.
Leading the way was Nick Lyndaker, who delivered a historic season. Lyndaker claimed the NCAA national title in the mile with a time of 4:06.45, becoming St. Lawrence's first individual men's track and field national champion since 2010. Earlier in the season, he broke his own school record and set both a program and Liberty League record in the mile, clocking a remarkable 4:03.36. Lyndaker also won the 3000-meter run at the Liberty League Championships, earning the title of Liberty League Track Athlete of the Meet.
Patrick Russel opened the season with a personal-best performance in the mile, running 4:34.51. The 4x200-meter relay team of Caleb Young, Trystan Biller, William Hauf, and Shemir Bridges recorded a season-best time of 1:31.62 at the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Championships (AARTFC).
At the Liberty League Championships, the Saints placed fourth overall as a team. Trystan Biller earned a second-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles. In the triple jump, Erik Shattenberg and Mike Smigen both reached the podium with personal bests—Shattenberg jumping 12.54 meters and Smigen close behind at 12.47 meters.
