The Saints took three of the day's matches to a third set, but the St. Lawrence University men's tennis team ultimately saw their season end with a 7-0 loss at Hobart in Geneva, N.Y. on Saturday evening.
St. Lawrence's season ends at 8-13 overall and 2-6 in Liberty League play, while Hobart improved to 10-8 overall and 5-2 in league action.
After dropping all three doubles matches, the Saints had three close matches in singles play.
At three,
John Hill-Edgar took on Nick Grosso and won the opening set 6-3. After falling 6-2 in the second set, he fell 6-1 to lose the match. At four,
Jake David also won his opening set by the score of 7-6 (11-9) over Rahul Vallabhajosula. His opponent won the second set 6-2, then the two battled to a 10-6 score in the third.
First-year
Charles Schepens occupied the six spot and won his opening set 6-3 over Marco Olmos, but dropped the final two in the loss.
