Phoebe Spaeth scored two goals as the St. Lawrence University women's lacrosse team took on No. 8 Wesleyan University at the SUNY Canton Turf Field on Wednesday evening, where they fell 16-2.

Hannah Kelly, along with Spaeth all recorded two caused turnovers, and seniors
Suzy L'Hommedieu and Gable each picked up two ground balls.
In the first quarter Wesleyan got off to a hot start by scoring four unanswered goals, the Saints responded with 32 seconds left, with Spaeth finding the back of the net off an assist from LaPlaca. Wesleyan scored two more goals in the last 10 seconds of the quarter to take a 6-1 lead into the second.
The Cardinals shut out the Saints in the second 5-0, to hold an 11-1 lead at the end of the half.
Once again, the Saints had another scoreless quarter while Wesleyan added three more goals to make it a 14-1 game.
For the final quarter, Spaeth scored her second goal to make the score 14-2. The Cardinals added two more goals and the game ended 16-2.
For Wesleyan, Mya Waryas led the way with three goals and an assist. Addie Cummings, Lindsey Diomede, Alix Riley, and Sam DeLeo all added two goals.
First-year
Zoe Froimovitz made eight saves on the day, and Izzy Weintraub led with two saves out of the three goalies that saw the field for Wesleyan.
St. Lawrence now falls to 1-2, while Wesleyan improves to 2-1.
The Saints will look to bounce back Saturday, March 15, when they travel to play Rensselaer in Troy, N.Y.
