The St. Lawrence University women's track and field team saw multiple personal-best performances at the Fastrack National Invitational at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, N.Y., as several Saints recorded season-best marks in distance and sprint events.
In the 3000-meter run, three runners competed for the Scarlet and Brown, and all three recorded personal-best marks. Avery Blanchard led the way with a 16th-place finish, setting a personal-best time of 10:17.52. Adriana Cecchetelli followed in 33rd place, with the junior setting a PR by crossing the line in 10:40.70. Paige Poirier rounded out the group with a 49th-place finish, with her lifetime best mark of 11:04.52 in a strong field of runners.
In the mile run, Quinn Sirgany posted a personal best of 5:17.07, finishing 21st.
Amelia Berthold had a notable showing in both track and field events, clocking a personal-best 1:04.18 in the 400-meter dash. She then cleared 1.45 meters in the high jump, placing 21st. This was just off her lifetime best mark.Â
The Saints return to action next weekend in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University.Â
