Box Score Vassar scored one goal in the first half and three in the second half to down the St. Lawrence University women's soccer team 4-0 on Friday night in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
St. Lawrence fell to 5-6-1 overall and 0-4-1 in Liberty League play with the loss, while the Brewers improved to 8-2-3, and 3-1-1 in league play.
The Saints started the game strong getting five of the first six shots in the contest.
Meredith Donahue and
Madison King-Thurber had their shots stopped in the first five minutes before
Maille McMahon and
Emma Casey had the same fate in the following 14 minutes.
The game cruised into the final minute of the first half where Vassar broke through. With seven ticks left on the clock, Riley McGrath notched a goal to give her team the 1-0 lead at the break.
Vassar doubled its lead in the 53
rd minute, thanks to a goal from Alice Crowley, and the offense was in full effect. The Brewers tallied goals in the 74
th and 80
th minutes to balloon the lead to 4-0.
First-year
Reagan Murphy made four saves in the effort, while Laura Shea made six saves in a clean sheet.
The Saints will be back in action tomorrow when the team heads to Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y. Â to take on the Bard Raptors in a 2 p.m. match.
