Blugh Joins Men's Soccer Coaching Staff

The St. Lawrence University men's soccer program and head coach Mike Toshack are excited to announce Ian Blugh as the graduate assistant coach for the upcoming season.

"I am delighted to welcome Ian Blugh onto my staff as a Graduate Assistant Coach." said head coach Mike Toshack "Ian just graduated from an outstanding college career as a Captain and SUNYAC Defender of The Year at Cortland State. Ian came highly recommended by Red Dragons' head coach Steve Axtell and it is easy to see why. Ian has integrated himself immediately into the program with both his passion and knowledge of the game."

Blugh, a graduate of SUNY Cortland, has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Before his time at Cortland, Ian began his collegiate degree at Division I Iona playing in three games with the Gaels. Blugh found his way to Cortland where he became a staple of the Red Dragons' back line and served as a team captain. In 49 games, Ian contributed two goals and one assist while racking up SUNYAC First and Third Team honors, two First Team All-Region nods, and a SUNYAC Defensive Player of the Year.

Blugh earned his Grassroots Coaching License in 2023 and has previous coaching experience at the youth level. Ian spent the Spring of 2023 coaching 15–17-year-old players at the NY-ID Soccer camp, and has spent time doing personal soccer training and volunteering at a local U-8 soccer clinic.
