Match Recap: Women's Tennis |

No. 5 Women's Tennis Falls 5-0 in Semifinals to No. 1 Vassar

The fifth-seeded St. Lawrence University women's tennis team went down 3-0 early in doubles and were unable to mount a comeback, falling 5-0 to top-seeded Vassar, in the Liberty League semifinals at the Reis Tennis Center at Cornell University.

St. Lawrence saw their season end at 10-6, while the Brewers will advance to the finals with a record of 12-5.

The Brewers started hot on the day sweeping all three doubles matchups to take the commanding 3-0 lead over St. Lawrence.

Vassar would get victories at number four and five in singles to end the match early.

At number three, rookie Angelica Aksdal-Jansen looked as if she was on her way to a win against Sofie Shen after winning the opening set 6-1, and took an early 1-0 lead in the second before play was stopped.
