Senior
Cody Sipher scored a pair of goals, but the Engineers of RPI topped the sixth-ranked St. Lawrence University men's lacrosse team by a score of 13-7 on senior day, Saturday, April 22 at Hall-Leet Stadium.

Chase Malatesta,
Stew Hutchinson and
Paddy Condon all scored for the Scarlet and Brown.
Mark Mahoney tallied one assist, while Condon finished with an assist and went 16-for-22 in the faceoff circle and picking up a team-best 10 ground balls. On defense,
Tripp Clark picked up four ground balls, while
Joe Scarfi grabbed three and
Sam Smith and
Conor Temple each caused two turnovers.
Mahoney connected with Sipher to open scoring at 12:42 of the first quarter and despite one goal from the Engineers, the Saints scored the next three, and ultimately led 4-2 at the end of the first.
RPI bounced back in the second and shut out the Saints 4-0 to take a 6-4 lead at halftime.
The third quarter showed one goal each, as Jon Matkin scored for the Engineers and
Christian Warren caused a turnover, ran the ball down the field and connected with Malatesta for a behind-the-back tally for the Scarlet and Brown.

Sean Smith led RPI with four goals and an assist, while Angelo Venuto picked up six ground balls to lead the Engineers.
Michael Marinello made six saves for the Saints, while Joseph Perry made 20 for the Engineers.
St. Lawrence finished with a 42-33 advantage in shots including 27-19 in shots on goal. The Saints also picked up 32 ground balls to RPI's 26 and the Engineers went 4-for-4 on man-up opportunities.
"I want to thank our senior class for all of their hard work and dedication to the St. Lawrence lacrosse program over their careers," said head coach
Mike Mahoney. "Their leadership on and off the field has been outstanding and certainly something to be proud of."
St. Lawrence moved to 11-4 overall and 3-3 in conference play, while RPI improved to 8-6 and 5-1.
The Saints will travel to Rochester for the final game of the regular season against the RIT Tigers on April 29 at 12 p.m.
