A total of 84 St. Lawrence University fall sport student-athletes earned Liberty League All-Academic honors in their respective sports, as announced by the Liberty League Commissioner Tracy King on Thursday morning. In total, 728 fall sport student-athletes have qualified for the league's All-Academic Teams in their respective sports.
To be recognized as a member of the All-Academic team a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing and enrolled full-time with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30. The Liberty League elevated the GPA requirement from 3.20 to 3.30 in 2016-17 to follow the established standard for eligibility for the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America awards.
"The Liberty League takes great pride in the academic performance of our student-athletes," said King. "The student-athletes at our 11 member institutions consistently demonstrate that it is possible to not only achieve on the playing field or court, but also in the classroom and the community. I commend them for their outstanding achievements."
