Sam Lyman shot two over par to claim the individual title at the SUNY Canton Invitational at the par-72 Partridge Run Golf and Country Club on Tuesday afternoon.
Lyman claimed first place with a 74 leading the Saints' 'B' team to a fifth place finish. St. Lawrence's 'A' team took first led by
Jimmy King. King placed second individually with a 75, while
Ben Scholes tied for fourth with a 77 and
Cooper Evans tied for seventh with a 78.
Wes Bevins tied for 16th with an 81 and
Ben Lloyd finished 25th with an 83 to round out the winning squad.
St. Lawrence's 'A' team took first place with a 311, edging Clarkson's 'A' team in second with a 313. The Saints' 'B' team finished fifth with a combines 322, while the Saints' 'C' team finished seventh with a 340.
Three members of the St. Lawrence women's squad also participated in the SUNY Canton Invitational.
Mary Grace McCann placed first out of eight women's golfers with an 86, while
Hana Kusumi placed fourth with a 101 and
Kelsea Whittier placed sixth with a 113.
Up Next: The women will travel to Williamstown, Mass. for the Williams College Invitational, September 24-25, while the men are slated to play in the Liberty League Fall Preview at the Potsdam Town and Country Club on October 1-2.
Please note: Due to the number of players, the women's portion of the invitational was considered exhibition play.
