Game 1: St. Lawrence 15, Skidmore 5

The Saints jumped on the scoreboard early in the first game of today's twin bill scoring their first run in the first inning. Sean Desjardins reached the base paths via an error, stole second, then was smacked home by a double to right center from Butler.

Skidmore ended up taking a 3-1 lead as the Thoroughbreds scored thrice in the second through fifth innings.

The lead was short-lived however as the Scarlet and Brown hung a crooked number in the bottom of the fifth. C Watson opened the eventual barrage with a lead-off single, the came around to score off a Butler single plus an error. Clark then joined Butler on the bases with a single, but neither styed on much longer as Circelli demolished a fastball over the left field wall to take a 5-3 lead.

Again, in the bottom of the sixth, St. Lawrence drew blood as Stephen Colangelo scored as a pinch-runner off a wild pitch to secure a run. Then Clark drove in two more runs in the next at-bat with a single to balloon the lead to 8-3.

The Saints were far from done as they brought five more in during the bottom of the seventh. Delaney scored first on a wild pitch in the inning, then Jimmy Liberatore came across on a bases loaded walk. Butler then hit a sacrifice fly to score another runner before Clark once again drove in two with a double to right field.

St. Lawrence's final runs came off the bat of Desjardins, who singled home Goretti and Forgione with a hard-hit single to right field.

Jack Sylvia earned the win on the hill for the Scarlet and Brown after pitching five innings giving up four hits, three runs, and striking out three along the way. Reiner came out of the bullpen and dominated in three innings of action giving up no runs and fanning three Thoroughbred batters. Huck Haun closed up the game pitching the ninth inning in the win.

Game 2: St. Lawrence 18, Skidmore 8

In game two, Skidmore jumped on the Saints scoring one run in the first, but it didn't take long for them to respond taking a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first. Clark stayed hot with a triple to score Butler, who doubled his way on right before. Liberatore was up next driving in Clark with a hard-hit ball up the middle to take the 2-1 lead.

The Thoroughbreds counter-punched in the next half-inning hanging five runs on the board. The first run came from a single up the middle, then a double and home run brought in the next four as Skidmore took a 6-2 lead.

However, the Saints once again came back to tie the game up at six in the bottom of the second. Watson doubled a runner home to start the inning before a Clark RBI single and a Liberatore two-RBI double knotted up the score.

In the bottom of the third, Forgione gave the Scarlet and Brown three more runs as he hammered a three-RBI moonshot over the center field wall.

The game was 10-8 in the sixth inning, but it was blown wide-open as the Saints put up eight runs.

The inning was opened by Circelli, who smashed his second no-doubter of the day to put two more runs on the board. Desjardins scored on an error next, then Watson made it 15-8 with a two-RBI knock. Comerford came around to score to double up the score before R Courtwright ripped a pinch-hit single that scored Brett Federico and Watson.
