The Saints finished 1-1 in their final two matches of their Spring Break trip as the St. Lawrence University men's tennis team fell to Bentley 4-1 on Wednesday and defeated Bethel today 7-2 at the UTSA National Campus.
The Scarlet and Brown went to 5-4 with the split.
Match vs. Bentley:
In the Saints' match against Bentley, which was cut short due to weather, St. Lawrence earned just one win in the number two Doubles. In that spot,
Guy Holbrook and
Cameron Pankau teamed up to face off against Andrew Broom and Diego Ramos and came away with the 6-2 win.
Match vs. Bethel:
In their match against Bethel today, the Saints went 5-1 in their Singles matches to start the day. At number one,
Nathan Turtledove swept Erik Beckers 6-1, 7-6, while
Ben Moolman swept the number two match 6-3, 6-3.
Nico Haet, who played in the number three spot defeated Jacob Lukkarila 6-0, 6-1. The final two Singles wins came from Adam Helibronner, who won 6-2, 6-3 at the number four, and
John Hill-Edgar, who won 6-1, 6-0 at number six.
At the number one Doubles spot, Heilbronner and Moolman each earned their second wins of the day as they won 8-5 over Beckers and Reilly.
Kenden Aguilera and
Cole Hamilton teamed up at the number two doubles and came away with a win in a tiebreaker. The duo finished off Lukkarila and Luke Wyly 8-7 (7-1).
With their Spring Break trip wrapped up, the Scarlet and Brown not be back in action until next weekend when they travel to Troy, N.Y. to take on Liberty League foe RPI at 3:00 p.m.
