Cricket Barnes had a hand in all three goals, as the St. Lawrence University field hockey team topped Morrisville 3-0 to close out their season.
The Saints sent two early shots wide of the net, before
Kara Dominick connected with Barnes to break the deadlock seven and a half minutes into the first period for Dominick's first assist of the season. St. Lawrence doubled their lead later in the quarter, when Barnes found sophomore
Morgan Misiaszek who scored her third goal on the year.
The Saints were leading 10-0 in shots at half time, and 4-0 in penalty corners.
St. Lawrence had eight more shots in the third corner but were not able to find the back of the cage. The dominance continued in the fourth quarter, and with less than a minute to go, senior
Maggie Green passed the ball to Barnes, who chipped in her third goal of the year.
The Saints finished the game outshooting the Mustangs 22-0, including 13 on goal, and 7-0 in penalty corners.
Lucy Adiutori played all 60 minutes in goal, as her and her defense preserved a clean sheet.
Head coach Fran Grembowicz
"This was a great way to finish the season, we had a total team effort. Our passing game was excellent as well as our defensive stops to keep the ball in our offensive end. I'm extremely proud of our seniors who have given so much to our program. It was nice to see them finish with a win."
Records: St. Lawrence (5-11), Morrisville (4-11)
