Trent Adamson had a career-high 27 points to lead the St. Lawrence men's basketball team over the SUNY Canton Roos 76-53 on Tuesday night in Burkman Gymnasium.
Aiden Macaulay also had a career-high with 12 points off of five for six shooting. The Saints as a team had a season-high 20 assists, led by
Trey Syroka and
Andrew Cowan's five apiece.
Up by just one-point midway through the first half, the Saints closed on a 26-7 run to go into halftime up 43-23. St. Lawrence did not relent in the second half, and the Roos were not able to get it closer than 20.
"SUNY Canton presented some really unique challenges," said head coach
Chris Downs. "They are very good off the dribble and in the first half blew by our guards and I thought our guys stepped up in the second half and did a better job. They also have one of the best rim protectors in the country in Fitch. Adamson did a great job of getting into his body and using his pump fake to establish inside scoring."

Canton had 14 different players score, led by Harry Quinlan's nine.
Canton averages six blocks per game, but that did not prevent St. Lawrence from attacking the rim. 48 of their points came from the paint.
The Saints shot 52.6-percent from the floor, and held the Roos 36-percent. Each team had five 3-pointers.
St. Lawrence came down with 33 rebounds, and Canton had 31.
