Maggie Green had the lone first half goal, but No. 18 Cortland's big second half propelled the Red Dragons to a 4-2 win over St. Lawrence's field hockey team in non-conference play in Cortland, N.Y. on Wednesday afternoon.

Mckenzie Haberl beat the keeper seven minutes into the second quarter, but could not beat the post. Green was there to tap in the rebound to put the Saints ahead.

The Red Dragons had 11 first half penalty corners to the Saints' one, and outshot the Saints 12-4.

Cortland kept this offensive pressure up in the third quarter, and evened the score on an unassisted goal by Lily Fox. Fox assisted a Keirra Ettere goal four minutes later to take the lead.

Hanna Corrigan made it three in the fourth quarter when Fox found her off of a penalty corner.

Down 3-1, Haberl made things interesting by finding the back of the cage off of a Green assist, but Ettere scored her second of the day to go up 4-2 and put things out of reach late in the fourth quarter.

"I'm very proud of our effort today," head coach Fran Grembowicz said. "We played a solid first half keeping Cortland off the boards. Lucy made some great saves with the support of the defense. We rallied after Cortland scored but just could not find the back of the net on a few good opportunities."

Cortland outshot St. Lawrence 25-13, and had 19 penalty corners to the Saints' six. Lucy Adiutori had ten saves for the Saints, and Megan McGuinness recorded six saves and the win.
