Michael Goretti was 3-for-6 with a home run, while
Andrew Circelli was 3-for-7 with a home run, a triple and a double, but the St. Lawrence University baseball team saw its seven-game winning streak snapped with a pair of Liberty League losses to the University of Rochester, 6-3 and 17-7, on Saturday afternoon in Rochester.

James Cronin hit a home run in the opener, and Goretti and Circelli hit home runs in the second game for the Saints, who fell to 10-8 overall and 5-5 in Liberty League play.

"We have a lot of adjustments to make before tomorrow," said Saints' interim head coach
Kenny Collins. "But I'm confident in our guys. We need to execute better on both sides of the ball."

The Saints will wrap up this weekend's four-game series with the first-place Yellowjackets with two more games on Sunday in Rochester, with game one set for an 11 a.m. first pitch.
Game 1: Rochester 6, St. Lawrence 3
Goretti was 2-for-2 with a stolen base, and Circelli was 2-for-3 with a triple and a double in the opener to lead the Saints in a seven-inning contest in the first game.

The Saints trailed 5-1 after four innings, but cut the lead to two runs on a solo home run by Cronin and an RBI single by Goretti in the fifth.

John Moses was 3-for-3 with four RBI for the Yellowjackets.

Andrew Matthews threw a complete game for the Saints.
Game 2: Rochester 17, St. Lawrence 7
After falling behind 10-2 through six innings, the Saints made a valiant comeback effort with five runs in the top of the seventh inning to cut the lead to 10-7, but the Yellowjackets responded with seven more runs in the bottom half of the frame to put the game away.

Goretti hit a solo home run in the fifth inning, and Circelli added another solo shot in the sixth.

Jake Delaney was 2-for-4 at the plate for the Saints, while
Nicholas Butler was 2-for-5 with a two-run triple. Cronin was 2-for-5 for the Saints.

Aaron Whitley led the Yellowjackets, going 5-for-6 with six RBI at the top of the lineup.
