Trent Adamson had a 20 point, 11 rebound double-double and five blocks to lead the Saints past Plattsburgh 85-70 on Tuesday evening in Burkman Gymnasium.
Will Engelhardt added 20 points and seven boards,
Trey Syroka had 13, including going a perfect five for five from the line, and
Miles Davis had a dozen as the starters scored 65 of the 85 points.
Gavin Macaulay hit a pair of 3-pointers on his way to scoring 10 off the bench.
The Saints got out to an early 9-3 lead, but the Cardinals tied the game up at 11. Englehardt hit a 3-pointer to retake the lead for St. Lawrence, and the Saints never game up the lead for the rest of the game, though they struggled to create much separation in the first half, and went into the break up 36-33.
A few minutes into the second half Adamson grabbed a rebound off his miss, and was able to find the bottom of the net amidst some contact to get their first double digit lead. After sinking the free throw for a 3-point play the old fashioned way the Saints led 54-43.
Plattsburgh got a quick bucket to keep the game to single digits, but
Liam McDonald found Macaulay on a back door cut to stretch the lead back out to 11.
With seven minutes to go Cameron Ness grabbed an offensive rebound for the Cardinals and laid it in to cut the lead back to nine, but the Saints again were able to answer and go up 67-56. The Saints would keep the lead double digits for the rest of the night, and at the final buzzer the scoreboard showed 85-70.

"Our defense showed up again," said head coach
Chris Downs. "I challenged them at halftime after giving up 44 percent from the field and 37 percent from three, and we held them to 0-9 from three in the second half." Â The Saints, however, shot five for 11 from deep in the second half.
"We still need to figure out how to rebound better," Downs added.
The Cardinals out-rebounded the Saints 45-35, including grabbing 19 offensive boards.
