Chris Jeffrey grabbed 14 rebounds, but the St. Lawrence University men's basketball team fell to Albertus Magnus, who received points in the latest D3hoops.com top-25 poll, 86-61, on Saturday afternoon in New Haven, Connecticut.
Adamson shot 6-for-8 from the floor and recorded seven rebounds, four blocks and one steal for the Saints. Jeffrey and first-year
Miles Davis recorded nine points each, while Davis and
Brandon Arnold each tallied two steals.
The Falcons took an early lead and never looked back, powering to a 45-25 lead by halftime.
The Saints improved their shooting to 41.9 percent in the second half, shooting 13-for-31 from the floor, but Albertus Magnus maintained at least a 20-point advantage throughout the second half and outscored the Saints 41-36 for the win.
Marquan Watson went 6-for-8 from the floor to lead the Falcons with 15 points, while Terry Dawkins and Jahmerikah Green-You each scored 11. Justice Washington grabbed a team-best nine rebounds, while Andrew Rice, Davon Warner and Keithantonio Davis each tallied three steals.
The Falcons shot 42.1 percent from the floor, to the Saints' 35.5 percent.
The Saints recorded 15 second-chance points and 10 points off turnovers, while the Falcons finished with 22 second-chance points and 53 points off the bench.
Albertus Magnus improved to 8-1 on the season, while the Saints fell to 1-7.
The Saints will return to action at Elmira on Monday, January 6. Tip off against the Soaring Eagles is set for 7 p.m.
