For the second night in a row, the St. Lawrence University men's hockey team came back twice against No. 11 Clarkson to tie the game and force overtime, but the Golden Knights prevailed early in the extra frame once again, winning 3-2 at Cheel Arena in Potsdam, New York on Saturday night.
Keenan Suthers extended his goals streak to three games with the first St. Lawrence tally of the night, while
Kaden Pickering added the second just nine seconds into the third period.
With an assist on the Pickering goal,

Tim Makowski earned his first collegiate point with the secondary helper.
Rookie
Francis Boisvert finished with a career-high 40 saves in the pipes on Saturday, including 15 in the third period.
Clarkson took a 1-0 lead on a power play goal at 4:45 of the first period when a shot from Josh Dunne, which was initially stopped by the Saints' netminder, ricocheted off the back of a defender in front and trickled over the line just inside the post.
That lead held until the 7:53 mark of the middle frame when Suthers tipped a shot from firs-year
Aleksi Peltonen in the high slot and beat Clarkson's Frank Marotte just under the bar on the glove side to tie the game at 1-1.
Later in the frame, Clarkson regained its one-goal lead off a wrister from Anthony Romano, as he cycled high in the zone before beating Boisvert high on the glove side at 11:37 of the second to make it a 2-1 game through 40 minutes.
Much like Friday night, the Saints didn't waste any time in the third period, as they needed just nine seconds for Risteau and Pickering to connect on a two-on-one and for the Madrid, New York native to tie the game at 2-2 with his third of the season.
The Saints had to kill two penalties in the latter half of the third period, including 1:34 of a 4-on-3 situation for Clarkson when Makowski was assessed a penalty for holding with the teams skating four aside after matching minors to Suthers and Clarkson's Greg Moro.
The teams combined for 26 penalty minutes on Saturday, with St. Lawrence finishing 0-for-4 with the man advantage. Clarkson finished 1-for-5.
With 5.6 to play in the third period, Suthers had a bid on a spinning backhanded from the lower left circle, but was stopped by Marotte with the right pad to keep the game tied at 2-2. Marotte finished with 23 saves for the Golden Knights.Â
Suthers also had a chance to open the overtime, as he, Pickering and Risteau broke into the Clarkson zone 3-on-2 and had another chance at a tip in tight on Marotte, but it went just wide of the left post as play continued.
Then, at the 1:29 mark of the overtime, Devin Brosseau redirected a shot at the edge of the blue paint behind Boisvert for the game winner to give Clarkson its second overtime win over the Scarlet and Brown in as many nights.
With the loss, the Saints fall to 2-5-1 overall on the year with a 0-3-1 record in overtime games. Meanwhile, Clarkson improves to 5-2-1.
The Saints will open their ECAC Hockey schedule on the road next weekend with games against RPI and Union on Friday and Saturday night, respectively, in the Capital District.
