First-year Luke Hicks scored 17 points and four other Saints netted double-digits to lead the St. Lawrence University men's basketball team to a 73-65 win over Union to complete the Liberty League weekend sweep on Saturday afternoon in Schenectady, New York.

Hicks went 7-for-11 from the floor, added five rebounds, three steals and six assists, while Christopher Jeffrey scored a career-high 13 points and grabbed six rebounds. Ben Crawford recorded his fifth double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Chris Miner and Riley Naclerio each scored 12 points. 

The Dutchmen posted an early lead and maintained an edge over the Saints through the first 12 and a half minutes of play. Jeffrey gave the Saints their first lead of the game with a layup at 7:34.

After two more lead changes, the Saints took control on jumper from Brandon Arnold and held a 36-32 edge at halftime after a last-second layup from Jeffrey.

St. Lawrence extended their lead to double figures after Crawford went 2-for-2 from the line with about 15 and a half minutes to play. A 3-pointer from Jackson Mannix brought the Dutchmen back within two points, but a jumper from Naclerio at 4:51 extended the Saints lead back to 63-56.

Another layup from Naclerio gave the Saints a 10-point advantage with just over a minute to play and the Saints secured the win for their fourth straight win and their second straight conference weekend sweep.

Kevin Jefferson led the Dutchmen with 27 points, shooting 8-for-11 from the floor and 7-for-10 from the arc, while Kevin McNoble posted a team-best seven rebounds.

The Scarlet and Brown combined to shoot 50 percent from the floor to the Bombers 43.1 percent.

St. Lawrence improved to 9-5 on the season and 6-1 in conference play, while Union fell to 6-6 and 2-4.

The Saints will hit the road again next weekend, facing off against RIT and Hobart on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
