First-year midfielder Isabel Silvia led the St. Lawrence University women's soccer team with four shots on goal, contributing to the team's 14-4 shots on goal advantage, but the Saints battled the Oswego State Lakers to a 0-0 tie after two overtime periods on Saturday afternoon in Oswego, New York.

Ranked second for the Saints was Kira Murphy and Marge Terhune with two shots on goal each, while six other Saints tallied one shot on goal.

St. Lawrence came out firing on all cylinders, registering three shots in the first six minutes of play, but unfortunately just couldn't capitalize for a goal.

The Scarlet and Brown ended the first half with seven consecutive shots.

At the break, the Saints held a 13-6 shot advantage, including a 6-3 shots on goal edge.

In the second half, the Saints peppered 12 shots, just shy of their 13 from the first 45 minutes of play.

"The team worked really hard today and their work ethic was outstanding," said head coach Sinead McSharry. "We had a lot of opportunities but only a few were dangerous. We have to be more deliberate in the 18 and be purposeful with finishing. We managed the game and the weekend well overall, which I am thankful for."

Audrey Burbidge and Mackenzie Schaffner combined for the Lakers' four shots on goal.

St. Lawrence finished with a 30-10 shot advantage over Oswego State.  

Emma Allen posted 14 saves for the Lakers, while Samantha Allen recorded four saves for the Saints.

With the tie, St Lawrence remains undefeated at 4-0-1 on the season, while Oswego State moved to 3-1-1.

The Saints will open Liberty League play at home at Sandy MacAllaster Field on Saturday, September 22 at 3 p.m.
