The Bears jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning, as Brooke Falsion scored on a passed ball and Lucy Condon scored on a sacrifice bunt by Lauren Brace.

Mann cut the lead to one with a bases loaded single through the left side in the bottom of the fourth, and Hein gave the Saints the lead with a two-run single up the middle in the fifth. Carney gave St. Lawrence a 4-2 lead with a single to right, and Syphurs scored on a dropped pop fly in short left to up the lead to 5-2.

SUNY Potsdam threatened to come back in the seventh inning, with Condon, Megan Fish and Brace all hitting hard line drives to right center, with Condon scoring on Brace's hit and Fish scoring on a sacrifice fly, but Madison Mitchell got Kayla Palmer to ground out to third to end the game.
