"It was a good first game for us," said head coach
Dan Roiger. "We had a lot of energy, did a really nice job on the boards and played very intelligently considering how young we are. We made some great halftime adjustments and our players executed those changes very well. We really did well on the defensive end for the first game of the season. We have a lot to learn, but this game indicates we've had a good start in the learning process."
Devyn Elliott led the Bears with 16 points, while Abbey Smith and Naya Walters each recorded six. Walters and Victoria Shopvick each posted six rebounds, while Nicole Hansen led SUNY Potsdam with three steals.
With the win, the Saints improved to 1-0 on the season, while SUNY Potsdam fell to 0-1.
