Kyle Edwards finished with 17 points and a game-high three steals. He and
Kyle Kobis (5 pts, 5 assists) led the Saints with nine rebounds. St. Lawrence was 41.5% from the field with 36 points in the paint and 18 points off of second chance opportunities.
Ā "We came out tonight with much more intensity and focus," head coach
Chris Downs said. "Oswego is a very good and well-coached team. It's not very often you can go to Oswego and come out with a win."
The Saints jumped out to an early lead with Naclerio scoring the first seven points for the Scarlet and Brown. St. Lawrence was 50.0% from the field in the first half, which featured two ties and four lead changes.
The Lakers led by one 29-28 with 5:15 remaining in the first half, but a three by the Cohoes, N.Y. native on the next possession gave the Saints a lead they wouldn't relinquish as they limited Oswego to one field goal in the final five minutes of the half and carried a 41-38 lead into the break.
St. Lawrence led by as much as 10 midway through the second half when a fast break layup by senior
Kieran Miller made it 60-50 in favor of the visitors.
Oswego chipped away with an 11-2 run over the next five minutes to cut the deficit to 62-61 with just under four minutes to play, but two straight field goals by Naclerio and a pair of free throws by senior
Willie Zachery sealed the win.
St. Lawrence finished 7-2 in non-conference play this season, but will focus all their attention on conference opponents from here on out.
"It's on to the Liberty League and the focus is Bard Friday night," Downs said.
The Saints will take on the Raptors on Friday at 8 p.m. and travel to Vassar on Saturday for a 4 p.m. start.
