The No. 10/11 Oswego State baseball team scored a combined 10 runs in the middle innings of Wednesday's nonconference match-up with the Saints en route to a 15-1 win in Oswego.

The Lakers scored in each of the first six innings, building a 4-0 lead through two before St. Lawrence answered with a run of its own in the top of the third.

Three consecutive singles to right for Tom Sullivan, Isaac Lewis and Mic Regan loaded the bases with one out and Michael LeFevre at the plate. LeFevre hit a sac fly to centerfield to score Sullivan for the Saints lone run of the afternoon.

Lewis led St. Lawrence with a pair of singles against the Lakers, while Evan O'Keefe and Evan Reichel also recorded hits for the Saints.

Pitcher Matt Phelan took the loss on Wednesday as the starter, throwing three innings and allowing five runs (three earned) on three hits with two strikeouts. First-years Robert Iametti, Alex Black and Robert Gates each made appearances in relief, with Gates pitching two shutout innings in the seventh and eighth and allowing just one hit.

With the loss the Saints enter tomorrow's nonconference game with SUNY Canton at 12-19 overall, while Oswego improves to 26-7.

St. Lawrence will play host to the Roos at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday on Tom Fay Field in the teams' second matchup of the season before traveling to play another nationally-ranked opponent in Cortland on Saturday.
