First-year pitcher Emmett Dunn had a no-hitter through eight innings of the second game of Saturday's Liberty League doubleheader with Union before giving up a single to the Dutchmen to lead off the ninth, but was stellar on the mound en route to his first collegiate win; a 6-0 shutout.

The Saints (10-18, 8-10 LL) split with the Dutchmen on Saturday afternoon on Tom Fay Field, as Union won the first game 9-2 before Dunn and the Saints rebounded to clinch the second.

The Manlius, N.Y. native finished with a two-hit shutout in the complete-game win, striking out five with six walks. He worked out of a bases loaded jam in the second inning and stranded two in the third to keep Union off the board, as the visitors left eight runners on base in the loss.

First-year Anthony Butler led St. Lawrence at the plate in the win, going 3-for-3 with his first career home run and three runs scored. Michael LeFevre also homered for the Saints in game two, driving in the game-winning runs with a two-run shot in the first inning. He finished with three hits on the afternoon.

After LeFevre homered to left center to drive in Mic Regan for a 2-0 Saints lead in the first, Butler drilled a solo shot to left field in the second to push the lead to 3-0.

St. Lawrence added two more runs in the fourth inning, as sophomore Isaac Lewis led off the frame with a single to center field. Butler worked a one-out walk to put two runners on for Beau Yaremko, who hit an RBI single through the left side to make it 4-0. A groundout by Tom Sullivan moved Butler and Yaremko into scoring position, with
Butler scoring on an error by the Dutchmen's third baseman that allowed Regan to reach safely and keep the inning alive with a 5-0 St. Lawrence margin.

The Saints sixth and final run of the afternoon came in the bottom of the eighth when Sullivan hit a long RBI double to the base of the wall in left that brought Butler around to score.

After allowing a single to center by Union's Kent Curran to lead off the ninth and another single to right with one out in the frame, Dunn and the Saints turned a 6-4-3 double play to end the game, sealing the win and the split.

The Saints did well to keep league-leading Union at bay through much of game one, as started Frank Grady allowed just three runs through five innings. The Dutchmen scored three in both the sixth and seventh innings and the Saints scored both their runs in the bottom of the seventh for the eventual 9-2 margin in the loss.

Adam Reichel led off the St. Lawrence scoring frame with a double to left center and advanced to third on a single to center by Yaremko. The Saints got their first run when Taylor Digilio reached on an error by the Union shortstop allowing Reichel to score.

With two outs and two on later in the inning, senior Kyle MacDonald hit an RBI single to left to drive in Digilio for the second and final run of the game for the Saints.

Grady was the pitcher of record for the Saints, going five and two-thirds innings and allowing six runs on eight hits. He also struck out two. Matt Phelan came on in relief for
an inning and a third and allowed three runs on three hits with a pair of strikeouts of his own.

Union's starter, Jake Fishman – the only conference pitcher with a sub-1.00 ERA so far this season – earned the complete-game win.

The Saints and Dutchmen will return to Tom Fay Field for another conference doubleheader on Sunday afternoon with the first pitch of game one scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
