Mark Syron's sac fly and junior
Kyle MacDonald's two-RBI single to center field snapped a 1-1 tie in the top of the sixth inning and helped the Saints to a 4-1 win over No. 24 Johns Hopkins on Monday afternoon in Fort Myers, Fl. to improve to 3-1 on the season.
Senior
Chris Fernandez walked to lead off the top of the sixth inning and
Mic Regan singled to left center to put runners on the corners for Syron. His sac fly to center field scored field plated Fernandez for the game-winning run. And after
Devin Robson doubled to left center, MacDonald followed with a single that scored both Robson and Regan for the Saints final runs.
Regan, Robson and
Michael LeFevre each finished with two hits for the Saints, while junior
Jake Farrell earned the win on the mound for the Saints; throwing six innings and allowing seven hits and one earned run with three strikeouts.
Liam Rogers was credited with the save.
The Saints will finish out their spring training schedule with a game against Keystone on Wednesday afternoon before traveling to Bard to open the Liberty League regular season.Â
