Hobart was awarded a penalty kick in the 92
nd minute and Adrian Colmenares converted to give the Statesmen a 1-0 overtime win over the No. 24 St. Lawrence men's soccer team.
With the loss, the Saints are now 8-3-2 overall and 2-2-0 in the Liberty League, while Hobart is now 8-2-2 and 1-1-2 against conference opponents.
Senior Jonathan Mendoza led the team with three shots and two shots on goal, while classmate Edward Gonzalez and junior Noah Bunton each recorded a pair of shots of their own. While the Statesmen had the better of the play in the first half, the Saints turned it around after the break, outshooting Hobart 7-4 including quality chances down the stretch, but couldn't get anything past goalkeeper Tyler Serafine. St. Lawrence will look to rebound with a pair of Liberty League matches with RPI and Union on Sandy MacAllaster Field next weekend.
