First-year Matthew Abell won his first collegiate cross country race to lead the Saints to a dominating victory at the three-team Cardinal Classic at Plattsburgh State on Saturday morning. Abell finished the five-kilometer course in 16 minutes, 11 seconds, at 5:12 pace per mile, to finish 6.3 seconds ahead of teammate Patrick Mortensen, who was second.
