Kathleen Merchant shattered her own school record in the javelin with a throw of 43.51 meters to win the event at the Cortland Classic on Friday. The mark was 3.81 meters better than her previous best, leads the  Liberty League by nearly six meters and ranks fifth on the NCAA Division III  performance list. She added sixth-place finishes in the shot put (11.97 meters) and discus (37.72 meters), hitting the AARTFC Championship qualifier in both events.
