Biography
2017: A senior captain, Kane finished the season ranked second on the team with 49 ground balls and first with 32 caused turnovers… Kane was recognized as the Liberty League and USILA Defensive Player of the Week on April 17th…He ranked second in the Liberty League with 1.68 caused turnovers per game… A defensive force, he also earned All-Liberty League, All-ECAC First Team and USILA/Nike All-America Third Team and IMLCA NCAA DIII All-East Region First Team honors... He was also selected to play in the DIII USILA/Nike North-South Game.
2016: Kane was a team captain and started all 21 games on defense for the Saints and earned All-Liberty League recognition as a second team selection … He led the team with 34 caused turnovers and was fifth on the squad with 52 ground balls … He recorded a season-best seven ground balls against Rensselaer and had a season-high five caused turnovers in the Tufts game in the NCAA Tournament.
2015: Kane appeared in all 17 games and started nine for the Saints as a sophomore defender … He earned All-Liberty League honors as an Honorable Mention selection … He scored one goal and was fourth on the team with 40 groundballs … His lone goal came against Vassar … Notched a season-high with six groundballs against Middlebury and equaled that number with another six against Clarkson … Was second on the team with 25 caused turnovers including a season-best four in the Liberty League semifinal game against Union … Earned Liberty League All-Academic honors.
2014: Kane appeared in all 14 games in his first year with the Saints. He scored two goals and added an assist for three points. He also grabbed 34 groundballs and caused 25 turnovers. His 34 groundballs ranked third on the team and the 25 caused turnovers was second on the team. His goals came against Skidmore and Plattsburgh.
Prior to St. Lawrence
Kane was a stand-out lacrosse player, captaining the team while earning First Team All-Lakes Region and All-Northern New England honors. A high honor roll student, he was the recipient of the Babcock Award for demonstrating leadership both on and off the field. Prior to his year at New Hampton, Kane was the captain of the hockey and lacrosse teams at St. Thomas Aquinas High School, where he racked up athletic honors.
