Matthew Ragovin, who spent two years as the assistant men's and women's golf coach at Washington and Lee University, was hired as an assistant men's and women's golf coach at St. Lawrence in the summer of 2016.

"Matt has two years' experience with a top-ranked women's team," said Lawrence. "We're excited about what he can bring to the St. Lawrence University golf program."

While at Washington and Lee, Ragovin was responsible for recruiting, developed and oversaw the team's fitness program and helped plan practices and schedule tournaments. He helped lead the Generals' women's team to an at-large NCAA tournament bid in 2014-15, while the men's team earned the Golf Coaches Association of America's Team Academic Award in both seasons. In addition to his duties with the golf team, he also served as a physical education teacher.

Ragovin was a three-year captain of the men's golf team at McMurry University in Abilene, Texas, where he earned a B.A. in interdisciplinary studies, with concentrations in kinesiology, business and psychology. He was an all-conference selection in the American Southwest Conference in 2010 and was the vice president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee as a senior.
