Prior to St. Lawrence

Childs played soccer, basketball and competed on the track and field team at Hotchkiss. She was a senior captain on the basketball team and earned NEPSAC All-Star New England West Team honors in basketball and the Founders All-League Award for track and field. Childs was an honor roll student and received the President's Award for Educational Excellence.
