Spring Student-Athletes Earn Liberty League All-Academic Honors

A total of 109 St. Lawrence University spring sport student-athletes earned Liberty League All-Academic honors in their respective sports, as announced by the Liberty League Commissioner Tracy King on Thursday morning. In total, 1061 spring sport student-athletes have qualified for the league's All-Academic Teams in their respective sports, marking the second time that more than one thousand have qualified during the spring season. Last spring, 1,084 spring sport student-athletes were named to the All-Academic Teams.

For the 2021-22 academic year, 835 fall sport student-athletes and 380 winter sport student-athletes also qualified for Liberty League All-Academic Teams. Combined with 1,061 spring-sport student-athletes, a total of 2,276 student-athletes in the league's 27 sports have achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average or better - the most in the league's history, which dates to 1995-96. It surpassed last year's total of 2,193 honorees.

To be recognized as a member of the All-Academic Team a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30. The spring championship sports include baseball, men's and women's golf, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's rowing, softball, men's and women's tennis, and men's and women's track and field.

"Student-athletes at our Liberty League member institutions have consistently demonstrated that it is possible to excel both academically and athletically," said King. "The academic achievement of our student-athletes has always been a great source of pride for our members. I applaud our students for their outstanding work in the classroom."
