Kathleen Merchant broke the school record in the javelin with a throw of 46.24 meters, good for first place on the NCAA Division III performance list in the event, to lead St. Lawrence to a win at the Ice Broken Open on Saturday. She also added wins in the hammer throw (38.30 meters) and shot put (12.39 meters). Her performance in the shot put ranks 27th nationally. The Saints won the tri-meet with Plattsburgh State and SUNY Potsdam.
