St. Lawrence University men’s and women’s cross country will be hosting the 34th Ronald C. Hoffmann Invitational on Saturday, September 19.  We welcome your team’s participation and hope that you will find the included information helpful with your initial planning.
 
Our home course is located directly on the St. Lawrence campus with easy access to our athletic buildings, restrooms, showers and parking.  The running terrain features only natural footing that consists of grass, dirt, pine needle and a stone dust trail.  We have hosted numerous conference championships, six NCAA Regional Championships in addition to our regular alumni meet and the Hoffmann Invitational at this championship facility.

Race information
  1. The entry fee is $250.00 per team, or $500 for institutions entering both men's and women's teams.  Checks should be payable to “St. Lawrence University Cross Country” and can be sent in advance to the attention of Kate Howard, Women’s Cross Country/Track and Field Coach, 23 Romoda Drive, Canton, NY 13617.  Open/Unattached registration is $50 per open runner and must be submitted online through DirectAthletics.
  2. Make sure that your rosters are updated on TFRRS prior to your first meet as per the NCAA.
  3. Please enter your teams/athletes on DirectAthletics by Wednesday, September 16 at 8 p.m.
  4. Packet pick-up will be available on Saturday from 9-10 a.m. at the start/finish area under the administrative tent.  The course will also be partially available on Friday afternoon for preview/inspection.  Other sports may still be using their practice fields.  Contact us in advance if you plan to run the course on Friday.
  5. Please park team vans and buses in J-Lot, across Park Street. Please do not park in the Newell/Augsbury Lots.
  6. Please help us to ensure that our course remains in good condition by cleaning up your areas and not allowing spray paint, permanent posters and signs to be used.
  7. The course consists of grass, stone dust and pine needle trail.  There are a few very short pavement or asphalt crossings that will be covered with stone dust. NCAA regulation course markings will be used (double-white line on grass areas) with each mile marked (men are marked in yellow, women marked in white) and red, yellow and blue directional flags.
  8. Results and scoring will be handled by Leonetiming.com.
  9. The NCAA clerking and scratch procedure will be implemented: Per NCAA rules, we must report all DNF's in results. Please return your roster list (found in packet) to the timer at the finish line and circle all runners who will NOT start and hand in their bibs.  Failure to do this will result in errors in DNF reporting for your team.
  10. The meet will be scored per NCAA rules.
  11. Refreshments will be available for coaches at packet pick-up and for all competitors following the race outside near the start/finish area.
  12. Awards will be presented to the top 15 individuals in each race as soon as possible (approx. 30 minutes after the conclusion of the men’s race.
  13. Locker rooms will be available in the Augsbury Physical Education Center.
  14. A certified athletic trainer will be on site near the start/finish area; the athletic training room is located in the Newell Field House and will be open at 9 a.m.  Bring your own supplies! Modalities not available!
  15. Results will be posted within 30 minutes after the conclusion of each race and official copies will be distributed to all coaches at the awards presentation and posted on the St. Lawrence athletics website.
